Art Barn 2011

Join award winning sculptor Asherah Cinnamon afternoons in the Art Barn for an exciting new workshop using found and brought materials.

Personal Art from Recycled and Found Materials: assemblage and collage

All human beings are inherently creative. Our minds want to put things together in new and meaningful ways. We begin with a conversation about sources of inspiration. We will briefly discuss some basic principles of design, collect driftwood and other water-born “trash”, and use and learn a few simple construction methods to make two- and three-dimensional art that is as individual as we are.

Recycled materials lend themselves to both novice and experienced hands. Do you have a broken object at home that you are too fond of to throw away? Feel free to bring small objects, photocopied or duplicate photographs, scraps of cloth or paper, or a favorite cracked dish to add to your designs. There will be a variety of materials and tools provided for your use and enjoyment.
